Start/Sip Pourcast - Week 4
It's Week 4, and now is around the time where you should be spotting trends with players in your roster. Figure out who's preseason hype was overblown, and spot the gems on the waiver wire. Injuries are in full swing already, just like in 2015, and many NFL teams are starting to look like a M.A.S.H. unit.
As for the Start/Sip Pourcast, we're 13-7 right now, which is a phenomenal success rate, so far. But, as with your fantasy team, there is plenty of time for shit to go south. Let's begin:
Terrelle Pryor (WR - CLE) @ WAS
Say hello to your new WR1/QB2 in Cleveland. He was all over the field last week, and with Josh Gordon headed to rehab, there should be no reason why that doesn't continue. Did I mention the Redskins have allowed the 4th most fantasy points to WRs? Besides all that, the possibilities and dynamic are just too exciting NOT to start the QB turned WR. This could be fun.
RANKING: VOODOO BREWING MANBEARPIG
Philip Rivers (QB - SD) VS. NO
I'm playing the Saints card again. It's not always a guarantee, but I hear they hand opposing quarterbacks a swag bag before the game, full of goodies. I hear Rivers' bag contains 322 yards, 3 touchdowns and no picks.
RANKING: TREE HOUSE BREWING IN PERPETUITY
Charles Sims (RB - TB) VS. DEN
Yeah, he's going up against Denver, but with Martin still out, he's their number one guy. I'm not looking for RB1 numbers here, but start Sims, with confidence, as a flex option in standard leagues with 10 teams or more. In a PPR, he gains RB2 potential, even against the scary orange people.
RANKING: FUNKY BUDDHA BREWING MORNING WOOD
Jordan Howard (RB - CHI) VS. DET
Detroit's been good against the run, but Howard should shine in Langford's absence. In this case, I believe the hype.
RANKING: ALESMITH BREWING BARREL-AGED SPEEDWAY STOUT
Kirk Cousins (QB - WAS) VS. CLE
He's about to break out, big time. This may be the week. Cleveland's presence should only help with that. You like that?!?
RANKING: ALPINE BREWING KEENE IDEA
Orleans Darkwa (RB - NYG) @ MIN
Jennings may not play again this week. Shane Vereen has been placed on injury reserve. I don't care. Darkwing Duck is going up against the scary purple people. They've allowed just over half the points to RBs that Washington has. That I care about. Bench him.
RANKING: MILLER 64
T.J. Yeldon (RB - JAX) VS. IND in London
Just like the smuggling trade... way too much Ivory. Neither running back is good enough to show consistent fantasy value in a pass first offense. If you had "The Allens" to pass to, you'd be a pass first offense, too.
RANKING: LATROBE ROCK GREEN LIGHT
Tajae Sharpe (RB - TEN) @ HOU
Who? Haha, just kidding (not really). Too much Demarco Murray, and having no J.J. Watt in Houston's front seven leaves holes for the mobile Marcus Mariota.
RANKING: MILLER SHARP'S
Spencer Ware (RB - KC) @ PIT
This one hinges on how healthy Jamaal Charles is going into Sunday's game. It's an afternoon contest, so you should have some viable bench options just in case. Keep an eye on the updates, but if Charles is good to go, it's Charles In Charge.
RANKING: SLEEMAN CLEAR
Dwayne Allen (TE - IND) @ JAX in London
The Jags have been stingy to Tight Ends. Wanna know why? Just ask Telvin Smith and Paul Posluzny, two of the best Linebackers in the game. They are scary AF.
RANKING: CITY BREWING GAME DAY ICE
