Start/Sip Pourcast - Week 11
I'm sitting inside the giant oak cask building in beautiful downtown Kathmandu, Wyoming, just east of the Mississippi Delta in Paris, France, toiling away on my column, while my editor is once again MIA. But, where could he have vanished to this time?? Perhaps he went to Vegas again. On second thought, perhaps he never made it through the desert. Although, it's also entirely possible he just grabbed a buddy and decided to RV across country. If you have any info on the whereabouts of my esteemed editor-in-chief, please contact our Team.
So, since he took off on me again with only last minute notice, I here at Booze League am proud to bring you our (my) first (annual?) Graphics Free Edition Of Booze League's Start/Sip Pourcast, or GFEOBLSSP! The major difference that makes GFEOBLSSP stand out from the pack is player photos with no words on them (unless you're reading a jersey). It's the kind of cutting edge content that sets us (me) apart from the rest of the industry, and we (I) am committed to bringing to our (my?) savvy, next level audience. So, without further ado, let's (let me) get started with your start/sit guide to Week 11 Fantasy Football!! Drinks are on me!! (I mean, who else is gonna pay for it?)
As for Wylie?... Well, life's been pretty hard on him ever since he killed that pesky roadrunner. I think I'm gonna go look for him. Good luck in Week 11!
LeGarrette Blount (RB - NE) @ SF ($5,400 - FantasyAces)
Let me be Blount for a moment... Even if the San Francisco 49ers DIDN'T have a strong chance of breaking the all time NFL record for most rushing yards allowed in a season, there would be reason enough to start this guy. Blount Force Trauma has flipped the NFL on its heels, and is currently the biggest red zone threat in the league. Those who read my column, regularly, know I hate betting on Belitrix's backfield, but there's something to be said about "riding the hot hand," and no RB's hands are hotter for TDs than "Leg" Blount.
Tyreek Hill (WR - KC) VS. TB ($4,200 - FantasyAces)
Jeremy Maclin is Out again, this week, but I'm not sure I wouldn't start Tyreek even if he wasn't. He was targeted 13 times last week! Expect similar volume this week, from this rising young star on an otherwise forgettable passing team. And, he's a great contrarian play in DFS leagues.
Marcus Mariota (QB - TEN) @ IND ($6,350 - FantasyAces)
The Colts have allowed the fourth most fantasy points to wide receivers this season, and they're actually trending down in the last month. Meanwhile, Marcus Mariota is averaging 260 yards and almost 3 touchdowns per game over the last six weeks, with only 3 interceptions in that time span. It should be a slaughter.
Delanie Walker (TE - TEN) @ IND ($4,900 - FantasyAces)
Mariota/Walker is a great stack play this week. The Colts are just as bad at defending against tight ends as they are with quarterbacks. Barring an inexplicable outlier, Delanie Walker should put up monstrous numbers in Week 11.
Martellus Bennett (TE - NE) @ SF ($4,650 FantasyAces)
The one thing the 49ers have done an even mediocre job of, this year, is defending against the tight end position. They've allowed the fourteenth fewest fantasy points to the position in 2016. A broken watch is also right twice a day.
Eli Rogers (WR - GB) @ CLE ($4,400 FantasyAces)
Rogers is visiting Cleveland this Sunday, and the city will likely not want him back anytime soon. Eli has emerged as a more than viable option as the number two receiver on the Steelers. The Browns are 10-0, and they cannot typically stop even a mediocre passing squad. This bodes well for Roethlisberger and his happy receiving crew.
Brock Osweiler (QB - HOU) @ OAK ($6,000 FantasyAces)
Monday night should bring more of the same unimpressive play from Brock. DeAndre Hopkins' drop in production can be largely attributed to Osweiler's lack of production. Raiders' quarterback Derek Carr should cause the Texans to keep putting the ball in the air, but I doubt the 6'7" man with the golden contract will rise to the challenge.
Jack Doyle (TE - IND) VS. TEN ($4,100 FantasyAces)
Dwayne Allen is back and rested. The Luck-Doyle connection is strong, and few, if any, tight ends have more red zone prowess than Dwayne Allen. Doyle is likely to take a back seat in this one.
Ty Montgomery (WR - GB) @ WAS ($4,000 - FantasyAces)
The Packers are desperately trying to fix the least productive backfield in the NFL, having brought in James Starks as a starter, and picking up Christine Michael off waivers. This will likely end Montgomery's stretch as a versatile utility player with hybrid WR/RB success. The receiving corps needs no help, and a newly crowded running back roster does not bode well for Ty at all.
Cameron Brate (TE - TB) @ KC ($4,350 - FantasyAces)
The Kansas City Chiefs are very stingy to the tight end position, having surrendered the fourth fewest fantasy points this season. Brate has made a name for himself in the wake of Austin Seferian-Jenkins' departure, but this week should be a challenging one. I would not expect more than flex numbers for Brate this week.
